ACCOUNTING I
Course Description
The primary objective of the full-year of accounting is for students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for entry-level employment in a variety of careers in business. After all, accounting is considered the "language of business." During the year students will discover career opportunities involving accounting; learn to keep a complete set of books for a single-owner service business, a merchandising partnership, and a simple corporation; and keep at least one set of books on the computer. Students will use electronic spreadsheets and the QuickBooks Accounting software program.
This course may be taken for credit at any of the community colleges in the State of Iowa. A minimum level of competency (85%) must be achieved in order to obtain this credit. |
